• The exchange of experience in Lithuania


    On September 20 – 22, 2016, an experience exchange visit to Lihuania was organized aiming to participate in an international conference “Harvested and damaged peatlands: prospects of restoration and conservation''.

    The conference was organized by the Lithuanian Nature Fund and the Ministry of Environment of Lithuania. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the experience on the results of restoration of degraded peatlands in various countries that were represented in the conference. The conference gathered together experts from Lithuania, Estonia, Belorussia, Germany and the United Kingdom. Alongside the discussions and presentations, a visit to Aukštumala Highmoor of the Nemunas Delta Regional Park was organized to see, how the renewal of a hydrological regime has helped to restore and preserve the habitat of a raised bog.
