• Latvian and foreign LIFE and LIFE+ project implementers sharing their experience on the management of wetlands


    From 7th to 10th of June, 2016, implementers of several LIFE projectswhere gathered together for knowledge and experience exchange seminar.

    The attendees of the seminar represented the following LIFE or LIFE+ projects:

    • ''Sustainable and responsible management and re-use of degraded peatlands in Latvia’’ (hereinafter referred to as LIFE REstore);
    • LIFE + project "Conservation and Management of Priority Wetland Habitats in Latvia " (hereinafter referred to as LIFE Wetlands),
    • "National Conservation and Management Programme for Natura 2000 sites in Latvia" (hereinafter referred to as LIFE NAT-PROGRAMME) and
    • "Life - Lasy Janowskie PL-In harmony with nature"

    The seminar was complemented with an expedition to various sites of Gauja National Park and several bogs (Sudas-Zviedru bog, Ziemeļu bog and The Great Ķemeri bog) with the aim to get acquainted to the implemented habitat protection measures and management approaches.
